It was Valentine’s Day yesterday. This post may have been better going live then, but I may have had a date that night, got a little distracted and forgot to post (sorry). For some of you, Valentine’s Day may have meant celebrating with your partner, exchanging gifts, and generally feeling smug. Some of you single folk may have got organised and planned a single friends meal out or signed up for a dating event, feeling ready to enjoy the evening despite lacking a bae. Others may have been stuck at home, reenacting the “all by myself” scene in Bridget Jones’ Diary, or just generally feeling miserable.
If you fell into the third category, I have a suggestion. WHY NOT BUY YOURSELF A SEX TOY?!
In all seriousness though, the lovely folk at have sent me a couple of things to try, which could be the perfect Valentine’s pick-me-up if you’re feeling low.
First is the Lovehoney Magic Wand. The cool thing about this one is that it’s mains-powered, so you don’t have to worry about it running out of charge when you’re in the middle of using it and have to go out and buy new batteries/ recharge it/ whatever (not that I would have any knowledge of such things if any family members are reading this). Said to be “stronger, quieter, and more powerful than ever before”, the wand has a sliding power scale so you can select your ideal intensity, and offers deep tissue massages. It can be used as a classic vibrator, or as a general massager. The larger shape means its possible to give yourself a DIY back massage, so it can be used as an end-of-the-day pick-me-up, as well as with a partner.
Next is the Ladyfinger 2.0 classic vibrator. I was recommended this one, and the classic design means it’s perfect for people who are just starting out. Described as being “small but perfectly formed”, the Ladyfinger is a modest-sized vibrator that’s smooth with a round tip for pinpoint stimulation. It has multiple speed settings that you can select via a twisting base and experiment. It’s also waterproof so you can use it in the bath or shower if that floats your boat. The versatile shape means it can be used on various parts of your body, either alone or with a partner.
There are loads of other cool things on the site, so if you’re at a loose end this Valentine’s Day make sure to shop around. What have you got to lose?
